Representatives from diverse sectors will gather at the Euskalduna Conference Centre in Bilbao from 26 to 28 February to debate and reflect on the circular economy and ecodesign, in a new edition of the Basque Ecodesign Meeting (BEM 2020), one of the most important ecodesign meetings in Europe.

During the first day (Wednesday 26), the BEM 2020 will analyse how leading companies and institutions in the sector are getting ready for the new economy, looking at the main trends and challenges in the field of the circular economy. One of the principal speakers at the event will be Marc Vidal, an economic analyst and consultant in technological and strategic transformation, with extensive experience in giving informative talks and presentations on the digital era and industry 4.0. Vidal, who defends technology and robots as allies and tools at the service of people, will be one of the speakers addressing the meeting on the first day.

On the second day (Thursday 27), the event will cast a look back over two decades of ecodesign ‘made in Euskadi’, analysing 50 practical case studies of local Basque companies, many of them SMEs.

The last day of the meeting (Friday 28) will focus exclusively on new generations, under the slogan ‘The power of youth – Leaders in a new circular economy’. Participants will include 200 students from universities and vocational training colleges.
